Sadness

It can often feel heavy or that you’re in a fog and it can be a way that you are processing something that happened to you --- Allowing feelings of sadness to pass through you can be an important part of healing and a connection to how your emotions serve you

Feelings of sadness are just one part of the many facets of emotions and can mean that you are healthy functioning person when you experience them as you are open to this experience --- There is also a connection to how this is experienced in the body --- Where do you experience pain or numbness in your body when feeling sad? --- It can be that at this time you don’t want to be seen by any-one --- sometimes shame or guilt may arise --- what’s tricky is that this can happen at the most unexpected times and can hit you sideways --- If this happens when you are out in public or at work for example, are you able to take a moment or request a break? --- It can be important to prioritise you in these moments --- This can be a gift to self in taking a break from what you are doing and an act of kindness --- If you can’t remove yourself from the situation, it can be a good thing to quietly check in with your breathing

Sadness can be experienced in many ways --- it can result in crying as a release --- or rocking or tapping of the body as a type of self regulating --- touching different parts of you such as the neck, head, face --- stretching or constantly wanting to change your seating or standing position --- or a heaviness in legs, arms, chest or back that wants to stay with you
